UK To Atlantic A (One Way Only)

One Way travel taking you from the UK to Calais, Paris (unavailable 2nd August) , Orleans (unavailable 2nd August), Tours, Poitiers, Saintes, Cognac (2nd August Only), Bordeaux, Agen (unavailable 2nd August). Toulouse (unavailable 2nd August).and Narbonne (unavailable 2nd August). See the beautiful Loire Valley or follow the Canal du Midi and return from Narbonne.

The Atlantic Route incorporates the following destinations:

Calais - Start your journey from the very north of France with its historic heritage through to the Pas-de-Calais and the Arras region and further afield.

Paris - Dropping near Charles de Gaulle Airport, this drop offers good access to the Marne Valley and is ideal for charity riders returning home after a London to Paris bike ride. Also the Tour de France finishes down the Champs Elysee (unavailable 2nd August).

Orleans - City of "Joan of Arc" fame, situated on the River Loire. Very popular for easy cycling and wine tasting (unavailable 2nd August).

Tours   - An excellent starting point for a family tour of the Loire Valley. Easier cycling in both directions alongside the river and wonderful scenery.

Poitiers -To the East and South East the Vienne and Gartempe Valleys are recommended. They offer gentle cycling along the river and more challenging cycling in parts. Limousin further south is a low gear and un-spoilt hilly area.

Saintes - Ideally located on the Charente River, this Roman town offers flat easy terrain to the coast going West, the famous brandy producing vineyards of Cognac to the East and the Massif Central beyond.

Cognac - (Only available on the 2nd August). The famous cognac houses of south-west France are best visited by bike. For those not wanting to go to the Semain Federale but want to visit this area this is your chance to do so.

Bordeaux - A convenient start to a variety of tours. You can head towards Gironde in the west for easier cycling and a family holiday on a sandy beach or follow the rivers and canals.

Agen   - To the north lies the ever popular Lot Valley and to the East the beautiful Tarn Valley. These and the Dordogne (further north) are good (though hilly) cycling destinations with some fantastic cycling along the valleys. (unavailable on 2nd August)

Toulouse - Situated on the Garonne River, the cycling is on relatively flat areas offering some gentle cycling. The towpath along the Canal du Midi is popular and can be ridden for some 40kms south west of Toulouse. (unavailable on 2nd August)

Narbonne  -  Flat easy cycling to the north and west and Carcassonne is an opportunity to explore the foothills of the Pyrénées. (unavailable on 2nd August)
